2008 marks 20 years that ACT UP Philadelphia has been fighting AIDS in Philadelphia, the US, and around the world. We welcome any and all friends, supporters, past and current members, from oldheads to those who've been to a single demonstration, to join us for the following events: Tuesday, June 3: AIDS Education Month Opening Reception FIGHT will award ACT UP Philadelphia the Kiyoshi Kuromiya award in honor of our 20 years of fighting back. All past and present members are invited to join us in receiving this award. We will read a pre-written statement and accept it as a group - if you want input on what that says, contact Val Sowell at the information below.

Thursday, June 5: Join us at an archive exhibit and storytelling event! We invite all ACT UP friends and supporters, and past and current members to enjoy art from our archives and to share a favorite ACT UP Philadelphia memory. These stories will be recorded (with participant's consent) into our oral history project! Please bring mementos and artifacts, such as photos of members or actions, flyers, signs, or buttons, to place onto ACT UP Philadelphia's living timeline.
